On Cows and Milk

Once, I was going over to my friend Christian’s house, and we were going to have a sleepover! We were just about to beat the game we were playing when his mom called us to dinner. We both washed our hands and scurried to the table, where his mom had a delicious pasta dinner waiting on the table. There was marinara sauce and cheese and garlic bread. I sat down and bit into the bread right when everyone else stood up and started to pray. Surprised, I put the bread down right away, and stood up. I was very embarrassed. Christian ended the prayer with “… and we thank the cows for their milk. Amen.” He looked at me like it was funny and I should laugh. So I did, and soon everybody else was too. Then we sat down to eat dinner. I was confused why it was so funny, but looking back, I guess it was because it was unorthodox to put something about cows and milk in a prayer.
